Abstract

The arising of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) had brought a shift in the generation and manufacturing ecosystem by means of real-time data, system interconnectivity, and remote diagnosis. Conversely, with the growing intricacy of these interconnected systems, the problems concerning operational reliability and maintenance planning are announced. Predictive maintenance (PdM), with the intervention of Artificial Intelligence (AI), has become the foil for proactive equipment management, equipping industrial ecosystems with mechanisms to foresee failures and optimize maintenance schedules before any disruption occurs.
